Andrew Jay started his firm in Gainsborough in 1983. At that time it dealt purely with criminal law and today it still enjoys an enviable reputation as one of the largest criminal specialists in Lincoln and Gainsborough. It presently has 5 experienced criminal advocates 2 of which regularly appear alongside barristers at the Crown Court.

Over the years it acquired lawyers specialising in other areas. First to join was the family team who conduct divorce, domestic violence and children matters. Property lawyers then joined dealing now with both residential and commercial land and leases together with (unusually in this area) national sales and purchases of buy to let properties. We started making wills and dealing with estates.

Finally, at the beginning of 2009, Phil Hanby acquired the practice following Andrew going into semi-retirement in Devon. Phil brought over 30 years experience of civil litigation and “rounded the circle” to provide a full range of legal services offered to our clients.
